On 18th and 19th of July a consortium meeting was held in Madrid. The first evaluation report was presented and a discussion was held regarding the management of the project’s resources and schedule. Another project (MigErEmpower) was presented, in order to identify similar barriers with TCNs.

In the beginning of the meeting, the President of the TCG - Central and Western Thessaly, Nikos Papageorgiou, said:

"I would like to welcome all our partners who are here today. For the next two days, we will discuss and co-decide important issues of the project, both organizational and in relation to the next work packages. We have already completed the National Surveys in Greece, Cyprus, Sweden and Spain, and the project is now in its next phase of implementation.

In2C is a project that is particularly important for my country, since as you know Greece is receiving a huge wave of third-country nationals. In the last 5 years more than 1.1 million refugees have come to Greece. Their integration into the labor market is an important bet for both Greece and the European Union as a whole. It is therefore particularly important that, with you, we will develop European tools for integrating them into the labor market in the construction sector, thereby turning refugees into opportunities for the whole Union.

So I invite you to continue your efforts with the same zeal that you have shown so far in the coming period. "

FU showcased the most current data from the online survey management system, covering all four partner countries and both TCN and Employers. DIMITRA informed the partners that the project website (D.2.1) is already online in all four partner languages (www.in2c.eu). Next steps and objectives were discussed and agreed among partners.

During the second day FLC discussed ways to mobilize employers to actively promote TCNs integration in their workforce and TCG presented the focus group of construction occupations for whom the training package will be developed.
